Mid-Level Testing & Commissioning Engineer

Location: St. Louis, Missouri/Remote

We are looking for a Mid-Level Electrical Testing and Commissioning Engineer who can take ownership of assigned testing and commissioning activities, support project leads and client teams, and contribute to ArchPoint’s standards for quality, safety, and clear communication. This role is a strong opportunity for someone looking to expand their technical capabilities, take on increasing responsibility, and grow into a project or field leadership position.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform acceptance testing and commissioning on high/medium-voltage and related electrical equipment, supporting troubleshooting, and producing clear documentation onsite
  • Assist and perform electrical testing and commissioning activities on power equipment and systems: transformers, breakers, relays, CTs, PTs/CCVTs, switchgear, cables, grounding systems, batteries, and DC systems
  • Assist and Perform P&C testing. This includes relay testing, CT/PT Sec Injection, functionals, load checks, end to end and RTU testing
  • Support troubleshooting, startup, and energization activities under the direction of a lead engineer or commissioning lead
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and technical documentation
  • Troubleshoot issues, support startup activities, and help drive safe energization
  • Document test results, field notes and prepare clear test reports or corrective actions
  • Coordinate with internal teams and client stakeholders in the field
  • Follow ArchPoint safety and quality standards in the field every day
  • Continue developing technical knowledge and field judgment with the goal of growing into a lead role


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical testing and commissioning experience in utility, industrial or power generation
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset and comfort working in the field
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned testing and follow through
  • Growth mindset and coachability, you want to learn and get better.
  • Willingness to travel and support field schedules, outages, and energization activities
  • Familiarity with Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, Fluke, or similar test equipment 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering - Preferred (or related field)
  • Relay testing experience - Preferred
  • NFPA 70E training or electrical safety experience - Preferred
